The Role
Our team is hiring an Account Service Manager for a role supporting Square's Decentralized Franchise Sellers. With thousands of unique seller relationships within a subset of broader corporate franchises, these sellers represent some of the most unique and highest growth potential across all of Account Management.
Working alongside a Senior Account Manager owning the corporate relationship, you will be responsible for nurturing seller relationships and finding creative ways to make Square products work for a complex array of customers. You will identify ways to expand collaboration with existing customers and uncover new seller accounts who are not currently utilizing Square within these relationships
You will:
- Be responsible for growing and retaining the existing customer base within our Decentralized Franchise Seller relationships.
- Source, work, and close new leads not currently utilizing Square within our Decentralized Franchise Seller relationships.
- Collaborate closely with a Senior Account Manager to develop growth and retention strategies for our Decentralized Franchise Sellers
- Understand customer needs to help achieve their business goals through Square
- Cross sell and upsell products and features by discovering customer leads
- Effectively and strategically address customer concerns and issues
- Collaborate closely with a Senior Account Manager to help grow our Decentralized Franchise Sellers
- Work with Sales, Support and Product teams to make sure customers have the best possible experience across all aspects of Square
- Support account management peers by taking on a product specialization, becoming an expert on a product or process, and delivering feedback to PMs
You have:
- 2 + years experience in Sales, Business Development, Relationship Management or related field
- Experience discovering and closing sales opportunities and building client relationships.
- Experience successfully managing a pipeline to achieve revenue targets
- Strong interest in business operations and strategy
- Passion and knowledge about how new technologies can help better serve small and medium size businesses
- Comfort in ambiguity and providing feedback on new processes that will be need continued refinement
- Experience with Salesforce is a plus
- A BA/BS or relevant experience
Additional Role Context
Square's Strategic Account Management Team focused on SEL/Services contains a number of "Decentralized Franchise" seller relationships that have historically been supported by a single Account Manager at the corporate level. These relationships represent thousands of individual seller relationships and the tech stack choices are largely "decentralized" and left up to individual sellers with varying degrees of vendor recommendation from corporate relationships. This role will collaborate closely with a Sr. Account Manager (responsible for retaining/growing our corporate relationships) to reach out both to individual accounts already utilizing Square (focused on upsell and retention) as well as new accounts under these broader franchise relationships not currently utilizing Square (focused on lead volume and conversion). There are 6k+ existing Square seller accounts, and an estimated 8k+ new seller accounts not currently utilizing Square within these Franchise relationships ready to be upsold/closed.
