The Account Manager-Bioprocess Solutions works directly with the Sales team to assist existing and prospective customers to select and design filter systems and single-use process solutions products for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and industrial applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Engage with existing customers and qualified sales leads following the entire sales cycle from beginning to closing the sales process including point of order receipt.
  • Establish and maintain strong, positive, productive relationships with customer accounts including product end-users, management and purchasing contacts.
  • Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts; soliciting new accounts; building rapport; providing technical information and explanations.
  • Organize and prioritize sales opportunities for optimal short and long-term growth.
  • Respond to customer inquiries for technical information and support materials.
  • Provide customers with pricing information, create, and submit individualized quotations.
  • Communicate with sales personnel, customer service, and customers with regard to products, prices, orders, delivery and other matters as required.
  • Guide customers to product solution, coordinating with internal resources to address customer questions/objections.
  • Create documents, presentations and proposals necessary to support sales activities.
  • Identify sales opportunities by generating leads and raising awareness of our products and services.
  • Assess competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends.
  • Travel up to 10% to 15% of their time for client and business purposes.

Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or Chemistry from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 2+ years experience in a sales role, preferably within the pharmaceutical sector is required.
  • Knowledge of single-use systems and filtration is preferred (through direct use or previous sales of similar products).
  • Dynamic, personable, self-motivated and possessing a strong work ethic. Close attention to detail and follow through is critical.
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills with proven ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format and effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Able to utilize basic computer skills is essential including the use of Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and CRM programs.

Physical Demands

Occasional work may be done in an ISO Class 7 cleanroom environment. Powder free gloves, face masks, hairnets, gowns, and shoe covers must be worn. Because smokers continue to shed thousands of smoke particles even hours after smoking a cigarette and these particles will damage our products, only non-smokers are permitted to enter or work in the cleanroom. As a result, the successful candidate must be a nonsmoker.
