About TEGNA

TEGNA Inc. helps people thrive in their local communities by providing the trusted local news and services that matter most. With 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets, TEGNA reaches more than 100 million people monthly across the web, mobile apps, streaming, and linear television. Together, we are building a sustainable future for local news.

WTLV WJXX-TV, the TEGNA-owned ABC/NBC affiliate in Jacksonville, is seeking a proven, results-driven Account Executive to grow new business and manage a book of advertising clients across one of the strongest cross-screen portfolios in the market. This is a seat for a closer who can walk into a business owner's office or an agency pitch, uncover what's really driving their marketing decisions, and build the multi-platform solution that wins the budget.

You'll sell the full weight of TEGNA: the mass reach and trust of ABC/NBC broadcast television paired with the targeting and growth of streaming. On the linear side, you'll connect advertisers to the large, engaged local audiences that tune in to Jacksonville's trusted news and programming. On the streaming side, you’ll leverage Premion, TEGNA’s streaming and CTV advertising business, to deliver premium, brand-safe connected-TV inventory. Premion’s curated marketplace includes 125+ OTT and CTV publishers, offering the same premium environments national buyers demand. Layered with digital video, display, and content solutions, it's a cross-screen story few competitors can match and in your hands, a clear advantage in every pitch.

We give experienced sellers the portfolio, the autonomy, and the support to build something significant. Top performers grow their books, their earnings, and their careers.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive new business. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of local and regional advertisers, connect with key decision-makers and create opportunities across broadcast TV, Premion streaming/CTV and digital.
  • Sell strategically and consultatively. Uncover each client's real business goals, read the market and competitive landscape, and architect tailored, multi-platform solutions that tie directly to measurable outcomes.
  • Own the full sales cycle. Prospect, qualify, present, negotiate and close business while consistently meeting activity and revenue targets.
  • Grow and defend the book. Turn accounts into long-term partnerships; expand them through smart upsell and cross-sell across the portfolio and stay close enough to results to renew and grow every cycle.
  • Pitch with data. Build compelling, insight-driven proposals that show advertisers exactly how broadcast reach and connected-TV targeting combine to deliver ROI.
  • Run your business. Manage pipeline, forecast accurately, and keep deals moving in CRM and partner with account, creative, and product teams to deliver campaigns that perform and retain.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of media, digital, or advertising sales experience with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets in a competitive market
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, open new business, and build a self-sustaining pipeline. You don't wait for leads
  • Command of the modern media landscape: broadcast television, streaming/CTV, programmatic, digital video, display, social, and content
  • Experience selling to business owners and/or agencies, and the presence to lead the room in a strategic pitch
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Fluency in turning data and analytics into a clear ROI story clients believe
  • Proficiency with CRM and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Google Analytics, DSPs/SSPs, and ad-management tools a plus
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel locally to meet clients and partners as needed

Salary: Competitive base + commission
