The Role
The Account Executive will grow BDG’s travel advertising business by prospecting, managing outbound pipelines, pitching, negotiating, closing, and expanding accounts across airlines, hotels, destinations, and cruise lines. The role requires tracking sales activity and forecasts in CRM tools, partnering with sales leadership, learning BDG’s media portfolio, and using AI tools to improve prospecting and sales materials.
Summary Generated by Built In

BDG is looking to scale their travel business, and the Account Executive will be responsible for growing and managing accounts within this category. This role is built for someone with 1–2 years in media or advertising — whether already in a sales seat or in a sales-adjacent role like account management — who's ready to prove they can grow these accounts into key relationships at BDG.

The Account Executive, Travel will own the full sales cycle — from prospecting and outreach through pitching, closing, and managing the business they bring in — across the full BDG portfolio. You'll work closely with sales leadership to identify expansion opportunities within smaller accounts and help grow the travel book of business across travel including verticles of hotels, airlines, destinations and cruise.

Key Accountabilities

    • Build and manage a high-volume outbound pipeline (cold email, LinkedIn, and other digital outreach) to grow developmental travel accounts across BDG's portfolio.

    • Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, lead qualification, pitching, negotiating, and closing — with support from sales leadership.

    • Identify and pursue expansion opportunities within smaller travel accounts that represent growth potential for BDG.

    • Hit weekly and monthly activity benchmarks (email outreach sent, meetings booked) in addition to revenue targets.

    • Partner with sales leadership to refine targeting, messaging, and sequencing for the travel vertical — helping shape how BDG scales this segment.

    • Use AI tools (Claude, Apollo, and similar) to build prospecting lists, draft outbound sequences, and create pitch materials efficiently — and help figure out where else AI can speed up the sales process as the function scales.

    • Develop deep working knowledge of BDG's full brand portfolio and digital, social, video, and experiential solutions to pitch effectively to entertainment and media buyers.

    • Track and report on pipeline, activity, and forecasted revenue using the team's CRM.

Candidate Profile

    • 1–2 years of experience in media and/or advertising, in a sales role or a sales-adjacent role such as account management — direct quota-carrying sales experience is not required if you're ready to make the jump into a full sales seat.

    • Familiarity with travel industry categories (airlines, hotels, destinations/DMOs, cruise lines) and how they market to different traveler personas (luxury, families, adventure seekers, budget-conscious) is not required, but preferred.

    • Genuinely excited about outbound prospecting — comfortable with high-volume outreach and undeterred by rejection.

    • Entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to build something from the ground up — comfortable with ambiguity and solutions-forward rather than waiting for a fully defined process.

    • AI-forward: professionally familiar with Claude or a similar AI tool, quick to pick up new sales tech like Apollo, and comfortable using AI to help build prospecting lists, outreach, and pitch materials.

    • Coachable and eager to learn the media landscape, with a clear ambition to grow into a senior sales role.

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable pitching to new contacts with little to no warm introduction.

    • Organized and detail-oriented, with the discipline to manage a self-sourced pipeline and follow through consistently.

    • Proficient in Excel, Canva, PowerPoint/Keynote, and CRM/sales tools (Salesforce, Apollo, or similar).

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
