Guild is hiring an Account Executive, Learning Partnerships. This role will be responsible for leading the strategic expansion of Guild’s Learning Provider partnerships via the addition of net new academic partnerships with universities & innovative learning partners.
AEs will own deals with prospective learning partners across the full deal lifecycle from outreach & initial conversation through contracting, negotiations & deal close; and they will do so in partnership with senior business development leadership at Guild; through high-touch engagement; & through collaboration with senior-level leadership at higher education institutions. Guild focuses its efforts on partnering with innovative, high quality, working adult oriented learning providers.
This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in true business development & partnership work vs traditional product sales. Candidates should possess sales skills & the consultative ability to build a real business case for prospective partners, while also supporting Guild’s due diligence of the prospective learning partner; including thinking critically about the ability of prospective learning partners to meet the needs of Guild’s Employer Partners.
As an Account Executive Learning Partnerships, you will:
- Drive business development & deal work with prospective partners alongside senior-level leaders at universities & learning providers
- Effectively communicate partnership ROI to prospective learning providers, while tailoring the Guild value proposition to prospects based on in-depth research of specific business conditions and stakeholder incentives
- With support from Guild Business Development team leaders, create proposals, contracts and, ultimately business relationships that support the strategic goals of Guild & prospective and current employer partners,
- Manage a high-volume pipeline with discipline, detail orientation, while utilizing a consultative business development process to move deals thoughtfully through the pipeline; manage the complete, timely, & accurate reflection of all deals in Salesforce
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across Guild, including with our employer partnerships teams, category development, product, marketplace delivery, account management, and other operations teams to drive organizational alignment, provide visibility and value across Guild teams into new Learning Partners
You are a strong fit for this role if you have:
- Experience in a field sales role (bonus if you have sold into learning providers/academic institutions specifically)
- Desire to be in a business development role where you would not have a target commission
- Proven ability to initiate and close deals with external partners
- Experience in a startup or similar fast-paced environment where there is frequent change and rapid growth expectations
- A persistent sense of urgency and the ability to create urgency within accounts and with internal stakeholders
We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $100,000-$130,000 AND variable (bonus)compensation eligibility as well as company stock options.
