Responsibilities:
- Play a meaningful role in client service, spanning account management, media relations, influencer management, research, planning, and more.
- Support on multiple projects from conception to completion, by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline and budget adherence – this includes creating media materials to support client campaigns.
- Build relationship with clients, journalists, creators and colleagues at all levels.
- Contribute to the execution of communications plans , recaps and case studies.
- Provide cross-team support including preparing client status agendas and activity reports, attending meetings and conference calls, compiling media and competitor coverage audits, identifying relevant trends to craft and distribute pitches, coordinating team scheduling, and logistics.
- Support reactive and proactive earned media relations outreach including but not limited to story-mining, development of pitches and media lists, media monitoring and tracking, staffing interviews, briefing spokespersons and more. Existing media relationships in the beauty space is a plus.
- Support in the execution of press trips, influencer trips, product launch events and brand activations.
- Support financial and administrative responsibilities in a timely manner as needed including setting up new project vendors, submitting vendor & influencer invoices, and facilitating product shipments for events, individual sampling, mailers and more.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, initiative, and an interest in creative problem-solving.
- Demonstrate an understanding of research techniques, including analysis of media coverage and online conversation (volume and tone).
- Support multiple projects from conception to completion working closely with junior and senior team members, as well as providing oversight to junior team members.
- Manage third-party partnerships (spokespeople, influencers, and field experts). Includes but not limited to counseling on content ideas and trends, supporting collaboration with research as needed, facilitating content development milestones, as well as potential identification and vetting of talent prospects.
- Understanding of client business including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers and retailers, and competitors in the marketplace.
- Supervise staff junior to you by motivating, coaching, and consistently providing feedback.

Basic Qualifications:
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media and publishing.
- A Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in the beauty industry, beauty products and beauty brands.
- Strong research, writing and editing skills and the ability to develop meaningful contacts/relationships.
- Fundamental understanding of media outreach assignments and the ability to develop traditional and digital media strategies.
- Previous agency or beauty brand experience.
- Proactive self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills, along with the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines.
- Eagerness to apply cultural happenings and trends to the thinking they are doing on behalf of client.
- Experience with writing.
