Full time – 1 year fixed term contract, 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm
Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their claim is being assessed in three regions: Northwest, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. At the end of May 2021 Mears had over 19000 service users across the three regions. Mears work in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs.
About the Role:
Due to contract expansion and an increase in business volume, we are seeking for a Accommodation Coordinator to join our team. This is an exciting position that works exclusively to support Asylum seekers going through their right to work Asylum application process with the home office. The ideal candidate will be resilient, trustworthy, caring, a people person and extremely empathetic to others.
As an Accommodation Coordinator the main role will be working as part of the dispersed accommodation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for allocating bed spaces to service users quickly to minimise loss of income. This will include relocating service users to another property or finding new properties for new service users to move into. Keeping safeguarding and Service User experience at the heart of the service will be key to succeeding in this role. Ensure all Service User notifications are processed accurately and efficiently to match the Service User to a bedspace. An important part of the role is to work closely with regional teams and transport team throughout the whole service user process.

- Previous office environment experience
- Medium excel knowledge and understanding
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Fast learner, flexible and reliable
