About you:
- Technical and people leadership and guidance for software engineering teams
- Developing high performance, highly available & scalable applications with a micro-services architecture and an understanding of observability
- Add to our existing services or roll out a new service to support this feature.
- Identify and help troubleshoot an issue affecting users in one of our many regions in the world.
- Participate in defining new product requirements and design together with the product team.
Experience:
- Experience leading a group of developers, evaluating performance, and providing objective and actionable feedback
- Experience in scaling systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
- Practice in performing sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
- Experience working with both technical and non-technical colleagues in a cross-functional, interdisciplinary environment
- Experience in the healthcare industry is a strong plus
Soft skills:
- Must be a passionate communicator, willing to challenge and enhance ideas while preserving relationships
- Personal ownership of tasks and a tenacious approach to finding and fixing the root cause of issues
Technical skills:
We have a diverse stack and if you are willing to work with a microservices approach, we are open-minded about your technology preferences. You’ll have the ability to explore new technologies and strategies.
Some of the key tech we use:
- Backends: GraphQL, Node.js
- We use key components of the AWS stack: Lambda, S3, RDS, SNS and more of the core services
- Frontends: React.js
- You don’t have to be a specialist in everything but willing to learn
Education:
- MS in software engineering or computer science or equivalent
