Job Description:

Position: Western Colorado University invites applications for the full-time position of Academic and Success Advisor in the School of Business.  The position reports to the Dean, works closely with faculty, staff, and students.   

Responsibilities: The primary role of this position is to advise first and second year students within the Business School.  This person would also assist with career readiness for all students (working closely with University-wide Career Services employees), to assist with internships, resumes, interview preparation, and job applications.   

Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor’s degree, and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Also required is experience collaborating with students, faculty and staff, families, and/or community members. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:  Masters in field related to the Business School. Academic advising experience. Demonstrated ability to navigate and prioritize a wide variety of tasks, following institutional and school procedures with close attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work well within a team with a high level of professionalism. Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management Software (e.g., WorkDay, Slate). 

Compensation:  $46,500 – $52,000 per year.  The position is FLSA exempt.  Western offers an excellent benefits package including shared premiums for a comprehensive health insurance plan, dental insurance, retirement plan, life insurance, and other insurance options. After one year of employment, Western provides free tuition for dependents enrolled full time in undergraduate programs for up to four years.
