Job Description
The Region Sales Director (RSD) role is responsible for leading sales efforts primarily through net flows, conducting sales opportunity analysis, driving advisor targeting and engagement, directing product SMEs, directing internal and external wholesaling activities. The position is a key strategic partner for field leaders, advisors, wholesalers and product partners in the Ameriprise Private Wealth GroupKey Responsibilities:
Deliver APWG Organic Growth Results.
Consistently exceed 100% of all corporate and platform goals related to GDC, Net Flows, and Net Clients by driving disciplined execution, advisor engagement, and measurable outcomes.
Key strategic and execution partner for leaders, advisors, wholesalers and product partners in APWG.
Expand Advisor Engagement in Growth Programs
Drive advisor net clients and net flows through interactions with advisors and leaders.
Fully support and align work, where appropriate, to drive top tier initiatives:
Drive substantial net client growth. Increase Signature Wealth adoption and flows meaningfully. Grow Ameriprise Bank to become the bank of choice and support AFIG relationships.
Deliver Consistent, High‑Impact Advisor Engagement and Maintain a Robust Growth Pipeline:
Develop and actively manage a robust pipeline for both client acquisition and net flow.
Provide weekly, actionable scorecards to each coached advisors that clearly highlight progress, gaps, and next‑best actions.
Lead Through Strong Leader Partnerships: Conduct regular 1:1 meeting with Leaders. Deliver weekly field leader communications/updates that clearly summarize results, trends, risks, and priorities. Partnership effectiveness is measured by alignment, clarity, and execution velocity. Inform, Align, Communicate, Collaborate, and Confirm
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
7+ years of relevant work experience.
Experience participating in client meetings supporting / facilitating the discussion and client case analysis.
Analysis - ability to review, analyze, gather data. Can identify data trends and develop and articulate solutions to solve for gaps in plan.
Leadership - demonstrated ability to lead and motivate advisors, leaders and field staff - engages with influence to support territory goals.
FINRA Series 7 (or willing to obtain within 90 days).
State securities (S63 or S66) (or willing to obtain within 90 days).
State IAR (S65 or S66) (or willing to obtain within 90 days).
Ability to travel (25%).

Excellent communication skills - written speaking clearly and in a compelling manner in front of small and large audiences.
Executive presence - conveys a meaningful message with confidence and assertion while able to answer questions on the fly.
Emotional competence - ability to be resilient in difficult situations, discipline in execution and positivity.
Product knowledge - familiarity and some expertise with Wealth Management and Risk.
Sales experience and Coaching Skills - able to engage and teach advisors while demonstrating accountability for results.
Preference for candidates to live in Minneapolis, MN
Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $114,500-$157,400/year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.Full-Time/Part-Time
