Your role at a glance
Reporting to Snr Manager of GDC Network Design, the Principle Specialist Network Design will be responsible for supporting centralized, harmonization, end-to-end service ownership and management of Network connectivity and Design for GDC with a particular focus on JAPAC & India regions in-line with OPR & GRD, overseeing the preparation of basic communications infrastructure architectural documents pertaining to our GDC new construction projects.This effort entails coordination between Product, Operations, NTT Design and Construction Managers, sales and commercial, client fit-out and external consultants to leverage subject matter Expertise across all GDC INDIA & JAPAC regions, ensuring that local, regional, and global codes and standards are applied to designs and design specifications, minimising lead-time, costs and ensuring high levels of client experience.
What we are looking for
Key Responsibilities
- Accountability to Snr Manager of GDC Networks Design for network design projects across JAPAC & INDIA in line with GRD, OPR and design standards.
- Undertake network due diligence for new GDC sites, defining providers and budget.
- Oversees and manage the provisioning of telecommunications services for JAPAC & INDIA new site services, modifications, and upgrades.
- Ensure builds meet product, IT & client and regulatory requirements across JAPAC & INDIA
- Develops and refines documentation, policies, procedures, and methodologies in alignment with the service ownership blueprint.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across GDC to proactively evolve site infrastructure, aiming for cost and lead-time reduction and client service improvement.
- Defines specifications for products and services utilized by NTT GDC for structured cabling and passive infrastructure, IT Room, CAR, MUA, POE, MMR, duct and tray.
- Utilize Visio, Bluebeam, or Bim360 models to produce infrastructure design and build plans.
- Identify, harmonize, and centralize all as-built documentation in collaboration with the wider GDC team.
- Plans, organizes, supervises, and manages IT Infrastructure projects and activities in JAPAC & INDIA.
Your Profile
- Completed technical studies or training as IT specialist with a focus on Layer 1 passive network connectivity and system integration or comparable qualification.
- Possesses a minimum of 6 years of management and hands-on experience, along with extensive knowledge in the data center or telecommunications passive physical infrastructure environment.
- Design, Installation, and Commissioning of passive assets (duct, fibre, CAR, CMMR, and structured cabling).
- Proficiency in the use of Visio, AutoCad, CRM or other design platforms.
- Management and budget experience.
- Ability to combine business requirements and best practices to architect for an infrastructure solution that supports a cost effective & resilient design.
- Motivational and inspirational leader with superior Decision-making skills and assertiveness.
- Planning and project management concepts, establishing, organizing and running meetings and working groups.
- Ability to take comprehensive notes and communicate projects, tasks and status to teams and management both written and verbally.
- Developing and executing strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Proficient both spoken and written in Japanese and English.

Skills Required

- Strong planning and project management skills, including organizing and running meetings and working groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including producing comprehensive notes and status reports.
- Proficient spoken and written Japanese and English.
