8x8 (EGHT) is the leading service provider of cloud-based communications to small and medium businesses and mid-market and distributed enterprises.  With more than 39,000 businesses who use our services today, and more than 1,000 new business customers subscribing each month, 8x8 is looking for a Technical UI/UX Lead to work with a team of developers pursuing elegant UI and UX on web and mobile clients, as we seek to transform an industry through the power of software abstraction.  8x8 delivers a broad suite of unified communications and collaboration services to in-office and mobile devices spanning cloud business phone service, virtual meeting, cloud contact center software and virtual desktop through our proprietary unified software as a service, or SaaS, platform and technologies.  We currently operate in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Hong Kong, and are in the midst of expanding geographically to new regions this year.  The successful candidate must have a strong passion for building innovative products, enabling new market pursuits, and playing to win.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our engineering development teams to distill high-level product concepts into detailed UI/UX flow specifications for implementation
  • Bridge the gap between the conceptual to the realizable, while pushing and expanding the boundaries of our service delivery and feature sets
  • Work hands-on with a large, in-house Product Management and UI design team to deliver projects quickly to the market
  • Build scalable systems that are able to leverage our global footprint of 8x8 and private-branded portals

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a UI/UX implementation manager in the Web/SaaS/Internet industry managing major product development and engineering initiatives
  • Experience building products for fast growing web or mobile products; comfortable in a small, intense and high-growth start-up environment.  Willingness to be hands-on and passionate about the end result
  • Ability to take the complex and make it simple and beautiful
  • Knowledge of front-end frameworks, native graphical applications, software/Internet development lifecycle, localization of language/services for portable UI/UX
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated and action-oriented
  • Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills 
  • BA/BS in Engineering or technical field required. MS or MBA highly desired
