Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Configure and deploy firewalls, switches, and wireless access points under guidance.
- Troubleshoot network issues like network slowness, IP conflicts, and routing issues.
- Support DNS/DHCP, VPN tunnels, VLAN design, and SDWAN/WAN routing.
- Conduct regular firmware updates and switch maintenance.
- Maintain firewall rule sets, conduct access reviews, and monitor IDS/IPS events.
- Participate in quarterly vulnerability scans and remediation plans.
- Update SOPs and document change logs for routine tasks.
- Travel up to 25% to support field sites, infrastructure hubs, or during major projects.
- Recommend enhancements for documentation or tools based on firsthand usage

- Participate in 24x7 on-call for critical systems.

Qualifications:
- Proficient understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, IP addressing, switch and firewall configuration.
- Demonstrated ability to support, configure and deploy Fortinet and Cisco networks.
- Willingness to learn in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a positive, professional and solutions-oriented approach with employees, supervisors and other departments
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Familiar with switch stacking, firewall rules, VPN tunnels and SDWAN
- Ability to write clear technical documentation and work with minimal supervision.
- Exposure to SCADA or OT network environments is a plus.
Education Requirements, Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology related field plus two (2) years of experience as a Network Administrator or in an IT role with the same or similar job responsibilities.
OR
- Associate Degree in Information Technology related field plus four (4) years of experience as a Network Administrator or in an IT role with the same or similar job responsibilities.
OR
- Five (5) years of experience as a Network Administrator or in an IT role with the same or similar job responsibilities.
Skills Required
- Proficient understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, IP addressing, switch and firewall configuration.
- Experience supporting, configuring, and deploying Fortinet and Cisco networks.
- Ability to configure and deploy firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
- Experience with DNS, DHCP, VPN tunnels, VLAN design, and SDWAN/WAN routing.
- Familiarity with IDS/IPS monitoring, maintaining firewall rule sets, and access reviews.
- Experience performing firmware updates, switch maintenance, and vulnerability scan remediation.
- Ability to write clear technical documentation, update SOPs, and maintain change logs.
- Willingness to participate in 24x7 on-call rotations and travel up to 25% for field support.
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills; ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Exposure to SCADA or OT network environments.
- Education: Bachelors in IT +2 years experience OR Associate in IT +4 years experience OR 5 years relevant experience.
