What You’ll Do:
The Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator will manage and optimize the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC)’s Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. This position is critical to ensuring system stability, security, and performance across a variety of enterprise applications. The role requires advanced knowledge of RHEL, as well as proven experience with Unix (AIX), automation, and troubleshooting. Candidates must be prepared to work on-site as needed within 24 hours.

What You’ll Do:
The Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator will manage and optimize the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC)’s Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. This position is critical to ensuring system stability, security, and performance across a variety of enterprise applications. The role requires advanced knowledge of RHEL, as well as proven experience with Unix (AIX), automation, and troubleshooting. Candidates must be prepared to work on-site as needed within 24 hours.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Install, configure, and maintain RHEL servers to support enterprise applications.
- Perform system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening.
- Monitor system performance and capacity, implementing optimization techniques where appropriate.
- Implement automation scripts to improve system efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with security teams to meet compliance and risk mitigation requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation on configurations, system processes, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide on-call support and respond to system issues or outages as required.
- Develop and update network diagrams, configuration maps, and infrastructure documentation.
- Support change management procedures including software upgrades and hardware migrations.
- Work closely with AOC’s internal network and infrastructure teams to support evolving business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
- 10+ years as a Red Hat system administrator.
- 10+ years administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.
- 15+ years total experience in the Information Technology field.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux internals, shell scripting, and troubleshooting tools.
- Familiarity with security protocols, enterprise monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Solid understanding of storage systems, networking, firewalls, and virtualization platforms.
