2027 Internship – Global Supply Chain – Supplier Technical Engineer
Job Description:
As a Global Supply Chain Intern, you will be exposed to a variety of supply chain functions and concepts, which may include Supplier Technical Engineer responsibilities. You will have technical accountability for assigned purchase parts and processes, including aspects of quality management. Additionally, you may be exposed to internal business partners as well as external supplier relationships. As part of the Global Supply Chain internship program, you will engage in special events and luncheons with peers, receive mentorship, hear from keynote speakers and much more.
Job Accountabilities may include:
Work on quality problem resolution and root cause analysis.
Review designs and coordinate with suppliers.
Support metrics tracking, process improvement, and cost recovery efforts.
Participate in cross-functional projects using Six Sigma and Lean principles.
Assist with supplier selection and qualification.
Intern Project:
As a Global Supply Chain Intern, you will be assigned an individual project relevant to the current needs of the business. You will be provided with mentorship and support from members of your team in order to execute the project objectives. At the end of your internship, you will make a presentation report out to senior supply chain leaders and other business partners.
Additional Information:
This position requires a 5-days in office schedule.
The primary location for this position is San Diego, CA.

Target internship timeline:
Group 1: May 24, 2027 to August 13, 2027 (12 weeks)
Group 2: June 21, 2027 to September 10, 2027 (12 weeks)
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently attending a 4-year accredited university/college
Preferred Majors: Engineering and Supply Chain
Minimum 2.8/4.0 GPA
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous supply chain internship and/or work experience
Strong initiative, communication, and interpersonal skills
Leadership involvement in student associations
Competence in data analytics
Summary Pay Range:
$26.00 - $43.00
Intern Hourly Rate:
An intern's hourly rate is based on the major/degree being pursued and the number of completed academic hours achieved before the start of the internship.

Skills Required
- Overall GPA of at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree (preferably in engineering) or recently graduated.
- Engineering or manufacturing background (familiarity with manufacturing processes and shop operations).
- Familiarity with engineering practices and process planning (interpretation of drawings, tooling concepts, Non-Destructive Testing, Functional Test).
- Technical product knowledge including metallurgy.
- Ability to work onsite five days a week.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and statistical/problem-solving tool usage.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma tools, project management, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Familiarity with quality management principles and Lean Manufacturing.
- Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally as needed.
