About The Role

FTI Consulting Australia’s Forensic and Litigation Consulting (FLC) segment brings together experts from a range of disciplines to solve complex problems for clients facing legal or regulatory scrutiny or involved in high-stakes transactions.

In an environment of increasing complexity, regulatory pressure and stakeholder expectations, organisations must be able to anticipate, manage and respond to risk. Our FLC Risk and Investigations team supports clients when governance failures or operational disruptions occur, helping them build the capability to prevent future issues.

We deliver practical, industry-informed solutions across operational, compliance, conduct, financial crime and reputational risk. Our work enables stronger governance, clearer accountability and more resilient, risk-aware cultures.

As a Graduate, you will play an important role in this work from day one. You will contribute to client engagements, support critical analysis and help deliver practical outcomes that make a real difference to how organisations manage risk.

What You’ll Do

As a Graduate in our FLC Risk and Investigations team, no two days will be the same. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals to help clients across a wide range of industries, including financial services, corporates, government, infrastructure, healthcare and education, as they tackle some of their biggest challenges in risk and resilience. Your responsibility will involve:

  • Supporting clients with risk transformation and change, helping them uplift risk frameworks, assess and improve controls, strengthen governance and embed clearer accountability.

  • Delivering independent reviews and advisory projects across operational, reputational, financial crime and conduct risk, including assessments of third-party risk, resilience, culture and governance to identify issues and deliver practical solutions.

  • Helping clients modernise how they manage risk and obligations, supporting the implementation of risk technologies, including embedding the use of AI, building dashboards, and improving data insights to enable better decision-making, prioritisation and investment decisions.

  • Assisting with investigations into financial crime, conduct and compliance matters on behalf of clients and regulators.

  • Participating in client meetings, workshops, and interviews with senior stakeholders to understand real-world challenges.

  • Preparing draft reports, presentations and visual materials that clearly communicate risks, issues, and solutions, contributing to internal initiatives, knowledge sharing and team development as part of a growing practice.

  • Assisting senior professionals in developing proposal packs and pitch presentations, contributing to the development of service offerings, and gaining firsthand experience in business development through active involvement in client engagement strategies.

How You’ll Grow

  • Assigned an orientation advisor (buddy) and coach to ensure a smooth transition to working life

  • You will benefit from on-the-job training and coaching

  • Learn from senior management in the team and work on large, multi-jurisdictional engagements

  • Exposure to our wide-ranging client base, including banks, insurers, lawyers, corporates and government regulators

  • Knowledge and interest in risk, compliance and financial crime issues

  • The opportunity to participate in business development and marketing activities

  • You will be part of our Graduate Development Program – a learning curriculum designed to meet your needs

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor/master’s degree in business/commerce or equivalent (other degrees are also considered, particularly Accounting and Finance)

  • Soft skills, such as empathy and respect: the ability to understand and recognise clients’ needs and work well with our people

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously

  • This role will require travel to the client and FTI offices
