About the Role

We're looking for a driven Business Development Representative Intern (more generally referred to as "インサイドセールス (Inside Sales)" or "内勤営業" in Japanese) to support our Uber for Business sales team in Tokyo. This high-impact position provides sales support to Account Executives through the development of qualified leads that result in achieving our business goals.

This role is targeted at native Japanese-speaking university students currently enrolled in overseas institutions (such as Australia, New Zealand, or other locations) who can commit to a full-time, 40-hour per week internship in Tokyo, Japan from November 2026 to February 2027. If you're looking for career growth, this role serves as an exceptional training ground and potential pathway into a full-time Business Development Representative position.

You will be responsible for outbound prospecting through phone, email, and tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Sales Marker. A key focus in Japan will be building trust-based relationships and understanding customer needs and decision-making processes. Partnering with Account Executives, you will ensure leads are properly qualified and progress through the sales funnel. This includes accurately updating Salesforce with customer insights and identifying clear next steps for Mid-Market Account Executives to engage prospects.

  2. Support the preparation of Dashboard demos, customer presentations, and sales proposals.
  3. Help coordinate and track outbound campaigns, events, and prospecting activities.
  4. Maintain and update CRM tools and databases with accurate sales information.
  5. Collaborate with Account Executives and Implementation Leads to tailor onboarding to client needs and ensure a seamless transition from sales to Implementation.
  6. Schedule meetings, demos, and follow-ups on behalf of the sales team.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Sales or customer service experience preferred but not required.
  2. Native Japanese language fluency with business-level English proficiency, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to extract critical prospect insights while maintaining mutually valuable conversations.
  3. Have a positive, self-driven team-first mentality with a desire to learn
  4. Excellent organisation, project management, time-management skills, and ability to take initiative
  5. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree at a university in Australia, New Zealand, or another international location, with the ability to work on-site/full-time in Tokyo from Nov 2026 – Feb 2027. We are looking for students graduating late 2027 or early 2028.
