JOB SUMMARY
The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas. This role supports the team by ensuring a safe and sanitary environment, contributing to the overall operations of the hotel's food and beverage department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

  • Operational Responsibilities
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
    • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen items.
    • Assist with inventory management and stocking of supplies.
  • Guest Services
    • Ensure timely and efficient cleaning to support food service operations.
    • Maintain a positive and professional attitude with guests and team members.
  • Team Support and Training
    • Assist in training new kitchen stewards as needed.
    • Support team performance by collaborating with colleagues.
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Communicate effectively with the executive chef and other kitchen staff.
    • Report any incidents or safety concerns immediately.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Follow all hotel policies and procedures.
    • Adhere to safety standards and maintain a safe working environment.
    • Monitor and report chemical levels to the Chef

 

 

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well with a team and demonstrate attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal abilities
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role is preferred

  • Standing/Walking: Frequent, including standing for long periods
  • Lifting/Carrying: Up to 50 lbs, such as kitchen supplies and equipment
  • Other Physical Requirements: Handling, grasping, and crouching as needed
