Pulls, sorts, stacks, and bands lumber according to size, length, and grade on a green, clear, or sort chain. Maintains stable loads, properly places stickers, supports production flow, performs cleanup and minor maintenance during downtime, follows lockout/tagout and safety procedures, and reports equipment defects or hazards. The role requires teamwork, physical lifting and material handling, and work in a loud, dusty, outdoor sawmill environment.

Visually inspect and grade lumber moving through a sawmill’s Green Chain. Verify dimensions, identify defects, mark products, monitor loads for mis-sorts, and communicate quality concerns. The role also involves resawing and ripping lumber when required, supporting sorting and dock operations, following LOTO and safety procedures, maintaining housekeeping, and collaborating with production employees to ensure accurate, efficient product flow.
