Lead HR strategy and operations for a rapidly scaling fusion energy company. Build and mentor the HR organization, drive workforce planning, organizational design, leadership development, total rewards, HR systems, compliance, employee relations, and people analytics to support multi-site growth and commercialization.

Design, develop, and commission PLC-based control systems and industrial automation for manufacturing lines. Integrate robotics, EtherCAT networks, safety systems, HMIs, and higher-level systems (SCADA/MES). Support greenfield/brownfield deployments, debug equipment, produce documentation and training, and collaborate with engineering and vendors through handoff to operations.

Lead systems engineering for inertial fusion energy and defense programs: define and maintain integrated technical baseline, traceability, verification/validation frameworks, interfaces, risk assessments, and engineering knowledge management. Lead cathode development and experimental campaigns for pulsed-power driven inertial fusion. Design, fabricate, and test emitter technologies and anode/foil structures, operate UHV systems and high-voltage pulsed power, develop/validate analytical and PIC/SPICE models, manage procurement and documentation, and integrate cathode systems into larger diode and laser architectures.

Design, implement, verify, and commission control, automation, and data-acquisition systems for laboratory and industrial test stands. Develop Python and LabVIEW software, integrate instrumentation and DAQ hardware, execute V&V and automated testing, troubleshoot systems, and support commissioning and lifecycle maintenance while collaborating across electrical, mechanical, and software teams.

Support day-to-day accounting operations including AP, GL, cash management, monthly close, reconciliations, journal entries, PO/AP 3-way matching, audit and tax support, and ad-hoc financial analysis to inform business operations.

Lead end-to-end supply chain strategy for R&D through commercial scale, including sourcing, procurement, materials planning, inventory, logistics, supplier development, and risk management. Build and scale a high-performing team, integrate supply considerations into engineering and program decisions, implement supply chain systems and KPIs, and ensure compliance with regulatory and export-control requirements.

Lead and grow the Optical Engineering team to design, analyze, integrate, validate, and commission UV laser beamlines, diagnostics, adaptive optics, coatings, and precision optical subsystems. Provide technical direction, oversee requirements flow, manage supplier relationships, resolve complex optical performance issues, and partner across disciplines to deliver optical systems for fusion and directed-energy programs.

Provide legal support across corporate matters: manage document repositories, assist with drafting and negotiating agreements, coordinate information flow, support attorneys, maintain templates and compliance logs, drive process improvements, and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.

Lead non-sequential ray-trace analysis and stray light mitigation for high-energy DUV laser systems using FRED. Model and validate mechanical features (baffles, beam dumps), identify hot spots and fringing, write scripts to automate simulations and data processing, and collaborate with optical, mechanical, and materials teams to meet system-level stray light requirements.

Lead federal and state government advocacy for fusion energy: build senior relationships across DOE/DOD, Congress, and executive agencies; manage briefings, visits, and partnerships; track legislation and administrative actions; coordinate lobbyists, consultants, and trade associations; represent Xcimer in high-level forums and deliver senior briefings.

Manage month-end/quarterly/annual close, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, and maintain internal controls. Lead cost accounting for capital-intensive manufacturing (inventory, WIP, overhead, standard costing), oversee fixed assets and capex, and handle R&D accounting and tax credit documentation. Support ERP and compliance tool implementations and assist with audits and tax incentives.

Manage day-to-day security operations, CMMC 2.0 Level 2 compliance, and data privacy programs. Administer Microsoft Purview and Defender, run incident response, maintain SSP/POA&M, support air-gapped security, integrate logging/SIEM, and collaborate across IT, legal, and engineering to enforce security controls and evidence collection.

Create and run multi-physics and electromagnetic models and simulations of pulsed power electrical and mechanical systems. Collaborate with design teams to optimize designs, plan validation experiments, and integrate simulation-driven improvements into manufacturing-ready designs.

Lead design, fabrication, and testing of electron-beam cathode systems for pulsed-power inertial fusion. Balance modeling (analytical, PIC, SPICE) and experiments, optimize beam transport and deposition, operate UHV systems, manage procurement and documentation, and integrate cathodes into larger diode/laser architectures.

Lead end-to-end development and delivery of site infrastructure and facilities for a fusion pilot plant, managing schedule, budget, contractors, permitting, commissioning, risk mitigation, and transition to operations while ensuring regulatory, safety, and utility coordination.

Lead design, prototyping, and deployment of automated manufacturing systems including robotics, motion, sensing, and vision. Own projects end-to-end, support controls integration, perform DFMEA/PFMEA, optimize production workflows, develop documentation, manage suppliers, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance to enable reliable, scalable production.

Serve as the first point of contact at Denver HQ: greet visitors, maintain reception area, manage visitor logs and badges, handle mail and voicemail, support calendar scheduling, and perform general administrative duties to ensure a professional, secure front office.

Lead and independently design, execute, and analyze complex laser-based experiments. Develop and apply diagnostics, troubleshoot systems, maintain and extend data processing scripts, produce technical reports, and mentor technicians while collaborating across scientists and engineers to improve experimental performance.

Administer, configure, and maintain multi-tier Teamcenter deployments (DEV/QA/Prod), Active Workspace, BMIDE data models, integrations with NX CAD and other lifecycle tools, provide Tier 2/3 support, manage upgrades/indexing, create deployment packages, and deliver training and documentation to engineering and supply chain users.
