Conduct desk-based research for a cold chain technology catalogue supporting small-scale fisheries. The intern will review literature and project materials, map and clean technology data, assess evidence on emissions, costs, energy, water, quality, and post-harvest losses, conduct validation conversations, develop a scoring framework, rank technologies, and prepare editable catalogue outputs and handover documentation. Occasional field visits to fish landing sites and cold storage facilities in Malaysia and Indonesia are required.

Manages technical implementation of a multi-country fisheries management project across Red Sea countries. Coordinates experts, consultants, partners, and stakeholders; oversees workplans, budgets, procurement, donor compliance, reporting, monitoring and evaluation; and ensures timely, science-based delivery of fisheries data systems, management planning, capacity development, and regional coordination activities.

Provide technical leadership to develop and implement regional and national fisheries management frameworks and plans aligned with the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries (EAF). Lead RFMP and FMP development, strengthen MCS and regulatory frameworks, design management indicators, facilitate stakeholder consultations, deliver capacity building and trainings, and produce assessment, technical guidance, and final reports to support sustainable Red Sea fisheries management.

Lead the design, development, and operationalization of national and regional fisheries databases and information systems. Assess existing FMIS, define data architecture, standards, and interoperability; advise on cloud/web platforms and tools; establish data governance and quality procedures; deliver prototypes, training, reports, and implementation roadmaps while coordinating with PMU, national agencies, and regional partners.

Supports project execution through administrative coordination, information distribution, meeting documentation, database and budget tracking, procurement, contracts, payments, travel logistics, workshops, visitor arrangements, and reporting. The role maintains accurate project records, monitors milestones and expenditures, responds to routine project inquiries, and facilitates communication among teams, consultants, partners, and visitors.

Lead and publish applied interdisciplinary research on gender, social inclusion and development in fisheries and aquaculture; design studies, oversee data collection and analysis, mobilize resources, build partner capacity, supervise staff, engage stakeholders, and communicate findings to influence policy and scale gender-transformative solutions across Africa and Asia.

Lead strategic research and operational direction in Côte d'Ivoire, manage in-country staff and office operations, secure funding, oversee a research-for-development portfolio, build high-level partnerships with government, donors and stakeholders, and communicate research outputs to influence policy and development outcomes.

Manage and monitor day-to-day office operations across finance, HR, IT, logistics, procurement and facilities. Lead the operations team, drive policy adoption and change management, oversee budgets and workplans, ensure compliance, maintain operational databases, and strengthen partnerships with government and service providers.
