Coordinates vegetation maintenance work by assigning locations, scheduling crews, obtaining customer permissions and permits, planning access and work methods, inspecting rights-of-way and completed work, maintaining records, addressing customer concerns, supporting storm restoration, and enforcing safety practices. The role requires extensive travel, outdoor work on rugged terrain, vehicle and equipment operation, emergency overtime availability, and knowledge of arboriculture, electrical circuits, utility specifications, and tree-care safety standards.

Manages tree-trimming and clearing crews, overseeing staffing, training, safety, production, costs, equipment, records, customer relations, and regulatory compliance. Investigates accidents and damage claims, coordinates with Human Resources and utility representatives, enforces work practices, and responds to emergency and storm-related work. The role requires field work near energized power lines, hazardous equipment, varied weather, rough terrain, and travel of approximately 20% or more.

Operate hi-rail and other heavy equipment to support vegetation maintenance along railroad tracks; perform site inspections, traffic control, load/unload and secure equipment, routine maintenance, emergency response, and enforce safety/OSHA/FRA/ANSI Z133.1 practices while coordinating with customers and crew.

Supervise utility vegetation management crews to meet safety, quality, and financial goals. Train, coach, assign work, enforce procedures, maintain customer and agency relations, and ensure required certifications and licenses are current.

Enforce safety and regulatory compliance for tree-trimming crews, conduct site inspections and incident investigations, deliver training and briefings, maintain safety records and certifications, support emergency response, and coach crews to correct unsafe practices.

Oversee multi-state division operations including sales, budgets, staffing, compliance, quality, and customer relations. Implement best practices, manage contracts and performance, drive profitability, and develop staff while ensuring regulatory and company policy adherence.
