Design, analyze, and optimize aircraft propulsion structures using finite element and classical methods. Evaluate strength, deflection, vibration, fatigue, and damage tolerance; develop structural layouts, sizing tools, material allowables, technical reports, and testing support. Collaborate with design, flight sciences, hardware, customers, and contractors throughout project lifecycles. Preferred expertise includes aeroelasticity, structural dynamics, rotor blades, electric machines, composites, CNC machining, prototyping, and AI-assisted development workflows.

Designs and executes ground tests for electric aircraft propulsors, including strain, modal, acoustic, aerodynamic, and performance testing. Builds test rigs, selects and troubleshoots instrumentation, operates data acquisition systems, analyzes large datasets using MATLAB and Python, and leads test readiness reviews. Collaborates cross-functionally, mentors junior engineers, and supports propulsion development through experimental insights.

Drives defense-sector growth by identifying and capturing government opportunities, managing relationships with defense stakeholders, supporting proposals and contract execution, and aligning customer needs with product and engineering teams. The role develops defense strategies, monitors policies and budgets, supports government engagements, communicates Whisper Aero’s value proposition, and builds stakeholder maps. It requires defense business development or acquisition experience, government contracting knowledge, TS/SCI eligibility, and 25%–50% travel.

Deploys and manages on-premises and cloud server infrastructure, AWS GPU/CPU clusters, storage, networks, engineering platforms, and Windows/Linux systems. Develops automation, containerized toolchains, and software-defined storage solutions. Maintains GitHub/GitLab repositories and supports NIST, CMMC, and DoD compliance. Responsibilities include performance optimization, backups and recovery planning, hardware and software maintenance, system hardening, troubleshooting, and infrastructure upgrades across multiple sites.

Design and optimize electric ducted fan propulsion systems at conceptual and preliminary stages. Develop proprietary fan design software, explore propulsion design spaces, shape aerodynamic components, validate models against CFD and test data, maintain technical documentation, and support design reviews, interviews, and proposals.

Advise leadership and cross-functional teams on federal government contracts, DoD procurement, FAR/DFARS compliance, SBIR/STTR programs, data rights, and contract negotiations. Draft and negotiate prime contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, NDAs, and supplier agreements. Build scalable compliance, obligation, and flowdown matrices; manage contract portfolios; support OTA agreements; and develop practical processes protecting intellectual property and meeting government requirements.

Coordinates cross-functional aerospace engineering projects by developing schedules, identifying critical paths and blockers, leading testing standups, defining requirements and milestones, managing risks, and communicating status and resource needs to leadership. The role balances technical performance, risk, and schedule while using agile tools to plan sprints, track progress, and maintain project documentation across hardware and hybrid hardware/software programs.

Lead the People function during rapid growth by developing organizational structure, leadership capability, workforce strategy, HR systems, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, compliance, and global workforce infrastructure. Partner with founders, executives, Finance, Talent, legal, immigration, and compliance advisors to scale teams and processes while maintaining strong culture, governance, employee experience, and operational effectiveness.
