The Controller will oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with financial regulations, lead accounting staff, and support strategic financial reporting to facilitate scientific discovery.

Provide telescope and instrument support for visiting astronomers, maintain and develop scientific instruments and software, contribute to data reduction pipelines and adaptive optics projects, and perform independent research (20% time) leading to publications.

Lead scientific and operational support for Keck's precision radial velocity capabilities (Keck Planet Finder). Monitor system health, develop and run data-quality checks in the PRV data reduction pipeline, coordinate with instrument scientists, developers, vendors, and users, support instrument maintenance and upgrades, and contribute to scientific research and documentation to maximize exoplanet science output.

Lead financial strategy and operations for the Observatory, including budgeting, forecasting, treasury, audit and compliance, sponsored award oversight, finance systems, Board liaison, mentoring finance staff, and fiduciary responsibility for retirement plans.

Lead annual and multi-year financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Provide strategic financial insights, oversee project/program financials, manage sponsored programs and federal grant compliance, and apply advanced analytics and AI-enabled tools to support leadership decision-making and Board reporting.
