Supports a busy urologic clinical and surgical practice by triaging patient calls and portal messages, communicating test results, coordinating physician schedules, managing referrals and precertifications, and scheduling inpatient and outpatient procedures. Coordinates preoperative testing, clearances, records, consents, postoperative follow-up, and patient communications while maintaining safety and confidentiality. The role also requires collaboration with physicians, clinical staff, hospitals, and surgery centers.

Processes and quality-checks incoming medical records, scans and routes documents, creates patient charts, retrieves records, and manages release-of-information requests. Maintains confidentiality, reconciles electronic messaging and HL7 queues, enters lab results, distributes provider documents, and invoices eligible record-request fees. The role requires an associate degree, two years of HIM experience, strong computer skills, and cross-training across health information management duties.

Diagnose and treat urological conditions through patient examinations, medical history review, diagnostic testing, treatment planning, medication prescribing, counseling, and surgery. Maintain accurate patient records, review test results, address patient concerns, promote preventive health, and follow accreditation, infection control, patient rights, and record-keeping policies. The physician may also contribute to medical professional policies and procedures.

Provides inpatient urologic care, emergency department consultations, hospital transfers, urgent and emergent procedures, inpatient rounding, discharge coordination, and multidisciplinary collaboration. The physician supports transfer-center decisions, regional referrals, quality metrics, and development of a hospital-based urology service line. The role has no outpatient clinic responsibilities and uses shift-based hospital coverage.
