The role develops PLC and HMI applications, supports SCADA, industrial networks, drives, electrical controls, equipment startups, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives. It collaborates with operations, maintenance, engineering, vendors, and contractors to improve reliability, safety, productivity, and quality. Responsibilities include documentation, preventative maintenance support, root cause analysis, off-hours production support, and occasional travel between company locations.

Sets up and operates CNC milling and grinding equipment to produce templates and machine rolls. Interprets technical drawings and work orders, uses micrometers for measurement, maintains template materials and tool inventory, and keeps the work area safe and clean. Performs lower-level duties as needed.

Provide technical support and continuous improvement for stainless steel melt shop operations, including AOD, EAF, and bottom pouring. Review and disposition heats, analyze process and product data, support root cause and corrective actions, address customer claims, prepare technical reports, and assist with audits. The role requires strong metallurgical and statistical expertise, experience with ferrous aerospace materials and melting or remelting processes, and the ability to work safely in office and industrial plant environments.

Operate and set up manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders to produce precision metal or plastic components. Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, select cutting tools, adjust machining parameters, inspect finished parts with precision measuring instruments, and maintain equipment through cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.

Oversee receipt, inspection, routing, traceability, and documentation of laboratory samples in an industrial steel manufacturing environment. Pack and ship external test samples, coordinate with departments to resolve issues, prioritize production workflow, prepare test reports, communicate results, and enter test data using scanners or software. The role requires extended standing, frequent bending and stooping, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and flexibility for irregular or extended hours.

Leads reliability improvements for steel-producing equipment and facilities, reducing downtime through predictive and preventive maintenance programs. Uses Maximo and equipment databases, analyzes failure data, and supports criticality assessments, spare-parts analysis, root cause analysis, and FMEA. Provides troubleshooting and reliability expertise, collaborates on new and modified installations, updates engineering standards, and develops best practices through periodic travel to other company sites.

Supports multi-site production planning using Theory of Constraints to identify bottlenecks, optimize throughput, manage inventory buffers, and improve on-time delivery. Maintains planning data in ERP systems and Excel, prepares performance reports, tracks customer orders, coordinates coverage across manufacturing sites, and supports standardized scheduling processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Supervise manufacturing production to meet schedules, quality standards, customer commitments, and cost targets. Enforce safety, environmental, quality, and housekeeping practices; review production reports; resolve operational, maintenance, and manufacturing issues; perform root cause analysis and corrective actions; maintain equipment and facilities; train personnel; and initiate personnel actions.

Supports corporate HR operations across employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, benefits, performance management, training, and employee lifecycle activities. Oversees biweekly payroll inputs and ADP Payroll administration, including timekeeping, employee data, reporting, audits, and discrepancy resolution. Advises managers and employees, coordinates benefits and leave administration, maintains HR records, supports investigations, and analyzes HR metrics. The role partners with payroll, finance, benefits, safety, and operations teams while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.

Coordinates and reviews testing results, process charts, order status, and order disposition for steel manufacturing plants. Creates mill test reports, certifications, and manufacturing documentation; verifies compliance with specifications and standards; expedites order releases; monitors shipping and late orders; communicates across Operations, Sales, Technology, and plant employees; and supports quality, safety, and process improvement requirements.

Maintain and repair mechanical and hydraulic equipment throughout a specialty steel manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include installing pumps, repairing boilers and piping, servicing rolling mills, furnaces, shears, annealing equipment, conveyors, and mill stands, and performing mechanical assembly, welding, cutting, and equipment adjustments. The role also involves interpreting schematics, operating cranes or forklifts, maintaining safe work areas, and completing mechanical aptitude and technical testing.
