Provide site-based operational, safety, and administrative support for JET decommissioning. Provide technical direction, apply systems engineering, perform design substantiation (hand calculations/FEA), produce specifications and documentation, support procurement, testing, commissioning and maintenance, and mentor/coordinate multidisciplinary teams.

Lead and deliver diagnostic and fusion-related engineering projects: define requirements, manage design, procurement, assembly, commissioning, and decommissioning; maintain project plans, risk registers, documentation, and supervise installation and supplier activities to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget.

Support and maintain Enterprise Asset Management systems to plan, schedule and monitor maintenance. Manage configuration, releases, roles/permissions, integrations and documentation. Support operation, calibration, maintenance and refurbishment of neutron, gamma and fast-particle diagnostics for MAST-U. Perform data analysis, validation and inter-shot analysis code maintenance. Contribute across instrument lifecycle and assist control-room operations under senior guidance.

Develop and optimise edge-modelling codes (including interfaces to JINTRAC and core codes), run core-edge coupled HPC simulations, analyse results, present findings, publish papers, and collaborate internationally to improve tokamak exhaust models.

Lead delivery of a portfolio of Science & Technology projects for the STEP fusion programme. Define projects from ambiguous requirements, manage governance, schedule, budgets and risks, prioritise investments, track performance, report to senior stakeholders, remove delivery barriers, and develop project management staff across multi‑million pound initiatives in a technically complex, regulated environment.

Provide day-to-day financial and administrative support to the Finance Directorate, handling queries, ERP data maintenance, period-end activities, journals, budgets, reporting, timesheets, goods receipting, audit queries, system testing, and support for apprentices while maintaining accurate confidential financial records.

Support Corporate Reporting and Analysis by producing and automating routine financial reports, analysing data, supporting budgeting and forecasting, maintaining project structures in the finance system, responding to finance queries, assisting audits and year-end reporting, and supporting system testing and colleague development.

Lead development and maintenance of a multi-level Integrated Master Schedule (L0-L4) for a complex fusion energy programme. Provide scenario modelling, schedule risk analysis (Monte Carlo), EVM-based forecasting, KPI dashboards, resource loading, and recovery planning. Align stakeholders, mentor planners, and support governance to enable safe, on-time, on-budget delivery.

Lead capture and bid activities to secure strategic funding and commercial opportunities for the Technology Division. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, build consortia and stakeholder relationships, manage the bid lifecycle and BVA process, maintain CRM/SharePoint records, develop proposals and reusable content, and represent UKAEA at external engagements to support sustainable growth and alignment with divisional strategy.

Provide IT administration and develop software for diagnostic control and data acquisition on Linux and Windows. Lead UKFE's regulatory compliance and engagement for the STEP programme. Define and deliver regulatory strategy, lead senior engagement with regulators and government, advise the Board and executives, own permissioning and consenting activities, build and lead a regulatory team, integrate regulatory requirements with programme delivery, and drive continuous improvement and policy engagement for emerging fusion regulation.

Support financial planning, analysis, accounting and month-end reporting. Monitor performance, manage project costing, assist budgeting and forecasting, prepare customer reports, maintain controls and reconciliations, support audits, CapEx reporting and finance system improvements.

Provide strategic financial leadership across multiple Integrated Project Teams and programmes, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, governance, reporting, audit readiness, inter-company transactions, and financial control. Act as senior finance partner to programme leads, deliver timely insight and dashboards, drive process improvements, mentor finance staff, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and government frameworks to support delivery of the STEP programme.
