Performs accounting activities including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, reporting, variance analysis, project and capital accounting, capitalization assessments, and audit support. Leads enterprise Azure and multi-cloud infrastructure strategy, architecture, modernization, and delivery. Establishes cloud governance, security, networking, resilience, and operational standards; leads complex infrastructure initiatives; directs an MSP engineering team; manages escalations, service quality, and SLAs; and mentors engineering staff.

Leads UL Research Institutes’ sponsored research program development strategy, identifying and securing complex federal and philanthropic funding opportunities. Oversees multidisciplinary, multi-institutional proposal development; builds scalable processes, tools, and best practices; ensures proposal compliance; applies data-driven and AI-enabled approaches; and manages a team of program development professionals. Partners with researchers, institute leaders, funders, academic institutions, and external stakeholders to grow ULRI’s research portfolio and organizational impact.

Manage physical and digital archival collections through appraisal, accessioning, arrangement, description, preservation, and repository maintenance. Respond to reference inquiries, conduct oral histories, support outreach and social media initiatives, lead archive tours, assess processing backlogs and storage needs, and collaborate on historical and communications projects. The role requires archival standards expertise, digital preservation knowledge, strong communication, project management, and independent and collaborative work skills.

Designs and governs enterprise solution architectures aligned with business goals and technology standards. Partners with stakeholders and technical teams to evaluate platforms, develop integrations, document architecture, and guide security, compliance, and governance decisions. Oversees technology portfolios, technical debt, roadmaps, and emerging technologies while supporting cloud, SaaS, custom applications, APIs, research platforms, and cross-functional initiatives.

Designs and governs solution architectures aligned with business goals and enterprise standards. Partners with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions, evaluates platforms and vendors, oversees integrations and application architectures, and produces architecture documentation. Ensures security, compliance, data protection, and quality requirements while managing technical debt and technology roadmaps. Supports cloud, SaaS, APIs, research platforms, collaboration tools, and cross-functional technology initiatives.

Leads enterprise AI governance, portfolio strategy, intake, prioritization, roadmaps, and lifecycle management across UL organizations. Partners with business, technology, legal, security, risk, compliance, finance, HR, vendors, and external partners to operationalize responsible AI, evaluate delivery approaches, measure value, manage adoption, and drive AI literacy. Establishes operating frameworks, governance processes, performance metrics, change programs, and sustainable AI implementation strategies.

The Solutions Architect will design and manage technical solutions that align with business objectives, advocate for partner needs, evaluate technology platforms, and ensure solutions meet security and compliance requirements.

Provides confidential executive and administrative support to the Vice President of Research and Electrochemical Safety team. Responsibilities include complex calendar and travel management, meeting and event coordination, correspondence and briefing preparation, records and report maintenance, budget and expense tracking, presentation development, meeting-note synthesis, and liaison support across stakeholders.

Provide administrative and financial support for FSRI: process and reconcile expenses, handle purchasing and invoices, organize financial records, assist with budgets and variance reports, prepare financial summaries and presentations, and support contract and budgeting processes.

Lead full‑stack development of complex research platforms, set technical direction and architecture, integrate data pipelines and evaluation frameworks, mentor engineers, promote AI-assisted engineering practices (e.g., Claude Code), assist hiring/onboarding, and represent technical work across teams to deliver scalable, secure software for digital safety research.

Lead and execute independent research programs on NLP and LLM safety, design and run experiments, secure funding, publish and present results, lead cross-functional teams, and develop evaluation tools and challenges to advance digital safety.

Manage end-to-end technical project lifecycles for Digital Safety: define scope, plans, budgets, and risks; coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners; run status meetings, change control, compliance, stakeholder communication, and lessons-learned; deliver projects on time and within budget.

The Research Scientist III conducts experiments, develops models, and provides expertise in electrochemical safety research, focusing on battery safety science and energy storage systems.

Design, develop, and evaluate AI safety assessment systems focused on LLMs and NLP. Investigate incident reports, conduct literature reviews, create and run NLP/LLM assessments, code or train text analytics, document methods, publish research, and collaborate with engineering teams to scale assessment tools.
