Teams at UL Research Institutes

Leads research collaborations and organizational partnerships for the Digital Safety Research Institute. Identifies strategic opportunities, cultivates relationships across academic, government, nonprofit, foundation, and industry stakeholders, and develops partnership strategies that expand research impact, visibility, and funding. Coordinates proposals, agreements, scopes of work, and technical communications while tracking commitments, risks, outcomes, and performance. Represents the institute at relevant conferences and collaborates with research, engineering, legal, finance, grants, and communications teams.

Lead development of full-stack software systems and platforms supporting digital safety research, data analysis, evaluation, and dissemination. Set technical direction, design architectures and data frameworks, establish engineering practices, and guide AI-assisted development. Mentor engineers, support hiring and onboarding, collaborate with stakeholders, communicate technical work, and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.

Leads ESRI’s communications strategy, research knowledge transfer, stakeholder engagement, technical content, convenings, sponsorships, media support, and thought leadership. Advises senior leaders, manages communications staff, budgets, vendors, and agencies, and coordinates with central communications teams on branding, digital, marketing, issues, and crisis communications. The role translates electrochemical and battery safety research for industry, regulators, first responders, standards bodies, and researchers while measuring engagement and research uptake.
