Supports freight car repair shop process improvement through process observation, value stream mapping, time studies, waste identification, 5S, visual management, standard work, problem solving, and operational data analysis. Participates in shop meetings, safety briefings, and improvement workshops while documenting processes and calculating business impact metrics.

Supports process reviews, root cause analysis, improvement planning, lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives. Analyzes operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities, leads cross-functional teams, and tracks project progress while communicating updates to stakeholders.

Coordinates indirect procurement activities across multiple categories, including RFQs, bid evaluations, purchase orders, supplier onboarding, contract and SLA reviews, spend analysis, and compliance documentation. The role identifies cost-saving opportunities, resolves purchasing and supplier issues, prepares procurement reports and dashboards, and partners with internal stakeholders and vendors to support timely, cost-effective sourcing.
