Resolves accounting and data issues, supports reporting and internal controls, trains accounting staff, and coordinates with finance, data, auditors, vendors, partners, and senior stakeholders. Requires insurance and reinsurance accounting expertise, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of GAAP and STAT policies.

The role serves as a liaison between accounting teams and technical resources while driving automation, process improvements, and successful adoption of new systems.

Lead and oversee reinsurance accounting operations, ensuring accurate GAAP and statutory reporting, month/quarter/year-end closes, reconciliations, cash and settlement activity, contract accounting, claims recoveries, vendor and banking management. Provide technical accounting guidance, drive process automation and controls, manage onboarding and ledger setup, supervise staff development, and serve as escalation for complex reinsurance matters, audits, and regulatory requirements.

Lead month-end close, prepare statutory and management financial statements and filings, reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts, manage SOX controls and audits, mentor accounting staff, identify process improvement/automation opportunities, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate timely reporting for insurance entities.
