Provides reference, information, readers’ advisory, community referral, catalog, technology, and customer account assistance to library patrons in person, by phone, and online. Supports programming, collection promotion, displays, staff training, digital resource management, reference desk scheduling, and technology troubleshooting. Represents the department system-wide, mentors staff, evaluates service trends, prepares activity reports, and assists with special projects at the Central Library and district branches.

Provide unarmed security for library staff, patrons, and assets across multiple branches. Patrol facilities, inspect locations, review surveillance, create incident reports, enforce rules, activate alarms, notify emergency services, and support safety operations. Maintain required KCPD security license, de-escalation training, and bilingual English/Spanish communication. Work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
