Teams at The Kansas City Public Library

Provides executive leadership and organizational oversight for public-facing library services, including branch operations, outreach, youth and family engagement, reader services, and special collections. Leads system-wide public service strategy, performance measurement, service improvement, budgeting, organizational alignment, and community partnerships. Advises the CEO and represents the Library with boards, public officials, staff, and community stakeholders while advancing equitable, accessible, and inclusive services.

Leads the library’s marketing and communications department, including strategy, public relations, media relations, programming promotion, publications, website collaboration, budgets, projects, and staff supervision. Develops and evaluates mission-driven marketing initiatives, coordinates internal and external communications, manages promotional materials and signage, and serves as backup to the Senior Director. Builds relationships with media and library stakeholders while ensuring effective promotion of programs and services.
