Provides direct patient care while overseeing shift clinical operations, staff coordination, and patient flow. Acts as clinical resource and mentor, ensures policy compliance, documents care, manages emergencies, delegates tasks, and participates in quality improvement and staff orientation.

Oversee daily clinical department operations, patient flow, quality standards, equipment, supplies, OSHA and CLIA compliance, staffing schedules, time-off, overtime, and staff training. Support ophthalmic technicians and front-desk operations, handle patient inquiries and complaints, coordinate with physicians, review invoices, and mentor clinical and front-office staff to ensure protocol adherence and high-quality patient care.

Document physician examination details accurately, chart chief complaint, assessment, and treatment recommendations; observe and assist during ocular exams; manage patient communication and workflow; complete superbill or billing orders as directed; become fluent in each exam's documentation requirements and support patient education and check-out.

Document physicians' verbalized findings during ophthalmic exams, maintain patient flow, assist during exams, complete billing/check-out tasks when directed, and ensure accurate charting and patient communication.

Lead Ophthalmic Scribe assists physicians during eye exams, performs diagnostic tests and imaging, documents physician findings, maintains patient records and equipment, supports procedures and patient education, and coordinates with clinical staff while providing supervisory oversight.
