Conducts policy-relevant economic research and data analysis for The Hamilton Project. Responsibilities include analyzing data in Excel, Stata, or R; creating charts, figures, dashboards, and data interactives; co-authoring research products; researching policy topics; coordinating commissioned papers; tracking deadlines; consolidating feedback; and supporting quality control and communications deliverables.

Manages financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, grant and project finances for Brookings’ Economic Studies portfolio. Produces financial reports, oversees funding allocations, supports proposal budgets, reviews transactions, monitors expenditures, and provides decision support to program leaders. The role also ensures financial controls, grant compliance, data integrity, and coordination across Finance, Development, Legal, Human Resources, and research teams.

Entry-level research role supporting economic policy scholars through data analysis, statistical calculations, regression and simulation work, literature reviews, manuscript verification, and drafting research summaries. Responsibilities also include maintaining bibliographies and datasets, preparing tables and graphs, updating web content, assisting with publications, and supporting events. The position is a two-year appointment with quantitative, research, communications, and project-support duties.

Supports earned media efforts by coordinating journalist engagements, monitoring media coverage, maintaining media databases and records, drafting communications materials, and preparing reports. Provides copy-editing, research, dashboard, workflow, administrative, and operational support for media relations and communications initiatives. Collaborates with scholars and communications staff to improve expert visibility, respond to media inquiries, and track outreach impact.

The Lead Writer serves as the primary speechwriter and executive communications partner for Brookings’ president. Responsibilities include developing speeches, presentations, talking points, correspondence, social media content, and communications plans; researching and fact-checking policy information; coordinating reviews with senior stakeholders; and managing presentation and messaging projects. The role also supports donor communications, board meetings, town halls, and high-level events while ensuring consistency with the president’s voice and priorities.

Supports Brookings’ Investment Office through investment operations, data management, portfolio reporting, capital call monitoring, manager documentation, and audit support. The analyst prepares Investment Committee and Board exhibits, tracks portfolio performance and cash flows, attends manager meetings, and contributes to investment research and portfolio analysis as experience develops. The role is hybrid in Washington, DC, with approximately 10–20% business travel.

Conducts philanthropic research to identify, evaluate, and track individual donors and prospects. Produces prospect profiles, due diligence summaries, leadership briefings, prospect lists, and event lookbooks using biographical, financial, and philanthropic information. Supports fundraisers by assessing donor capacity, interests, networks, and cultivation pathways. Manages research requests, portfolio assignments, prospect pipeline tracking, and portfolio reviews while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and institutional policies.
