Teams at Texas Organ Sharing Alliance

Evaluates potential organ donors, manages donor medical care, coordinates organ allocation and recovery procedures, collaborates with hospitals, physicians, transplant centers, and families, and ensures compliance with OPTN/UNOS and TOSA policies. The role includes on-call coverage, high-stress clinical decision-making, documentation, organ transport support, family communication, and inter-regional travel.

Evaluate potential organ donors, coordinate donor medical management and allocation, communicate with families, hospitals, transplant centers and legal authorities, oversee recovery procedures and documentation, and participate in quality, education, and hospital policy efforts while sharing 24-hour on-call responsibilities and traveling as needed.

Serve as liaison between the OPO and partner hospitals to build donation infrastructure, conduct hospital rounds and in-services, manage referrals and variance documentation, report data, implement process improvements, maintain hospital access and agreements, support donation awareness events, and document interactions in the OPO database.
