Conducts property title searches and examinations for real estate transactions, reviewing deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, and public records to identify defects or encumbrances. The role requires careful document review, confidential information handling, title insurance knowledge, and accurate use of title search and industry software.

Manages residential and commercial real estate escrow transactions from opening through closing. Responsibilities include reviewing agreements and title commitments, preparing settlement statements and closing disclosures, coordinating title clearance, verifying taxes and payoffs, managing escrow accounts, disbursing funds, maintaining compliance and records, and communicating with buyers, sellers, lenders, agents, attorneys, and other stakeholders.

Own commercial lender business development and account management across West and Southwest Michigan. Prospect and convert banks, credit unions, private lenders, and CRE lending groups; deepen existing relationships and grow wallet share. Serve as a client advocate, support title-related questions, maintain an accurate CRM pipeline, attend industry events, and report on pipeline health and KPIs. The role requires commercial lending expertise, strong communication, disciplined prospecting, and relationship-management skills.

Manage full-service escrow closings by coordinating transactions, preparing settlement statements and escrow instructions, ordering title and payoff updates, verifying tax and loan documents, disbursing funds, and communicating with agents, lenders, and clients. Ensure compliance with state regulations, maintain accurate records, support branch staff, and deliver excellent customer service throughout the escrow process.

Conduct comprehensive commercial property title examinations, analyze legal documents, resolve complex title issues, prepare detailed title reports, verify public records, ensure compliance, coordinate with underwriters and managers, communicate with internal clients, and train junior staff.
