Provides reporting and account support to STRS Ohio employers by answering inquiries, interpreting requirements, processing and reconciling payroll and service reports, resolving discrepancies, maintaining member records, and managing direct-debit activities. The role also supports employer education, website updates, presentations, documentation, projects, and other finance functions. It is onsite Monday through Friday and requires occasional travel of no more than 5%.

Manage EAFE and Emerging Markets quantitative international equity portfolios, conduct macroeconomic and market research, recommend country allocations, support portfolio construction and risk management, and contribute to long-term investment performance. The role also leads quantitative analysts, oversees investment processes, mentors staff, communicates market developments, and applies financial models, econometrics, programming, and database tools to large-scale financial data analysis.

Processes securities transactions, corporate actions, dividends, interest, principal, and alternative investment activity within investment management systems. Matches trades with brokers and internal departments, notifies custodian banks, performs portfolio position reconciliations, and supports investment operations during absences and peak periods. The role requires strong quantitative, analytical, organizational, spreadsheet, and accuracy skills, with education and investment processing experience varying by grade.

Provides advanced administrative support to the Investments department, including developing PowerPoint presentations, coordinating agendas and meeting materials, verifying international equity manager fees, arranging international travel and expense documentation, and assisting with proxy voting policy implementation and tracking.

The Chief Actuary leads actuarial operations and enterprise risk management for pension and healthcare plans. Responsibilities include overseeing annual actuarial valuation data, coordinating with consulting actuaries, presenting analyses to leadership and the retirement board, developing long-term funding strategies, and integrating actuarial, financial, investment, operational, and strategic risks into the enterprise risk framework.

Lead STRS Ohio’s third-party risk management program by developing policies and procedures, managing vendor due diligence and questionnaires, reviewing contracts, facilitating risk assessments, and monitoring regulatory, cybersecurity, AI, supply-chain, geopolitical, sanctions, and operational-resilience risks. The role coordinates with vendors, internal stakeholders, sourcing, vendor management, and legal/compliance teams to strengthen oversight and reduce technology and business risk.

Maintain availability, performance, and integrity of databases and OS platforms. Install, upgrade, patch, backup/recover, tune, monitor, and automate database tasks. Provide 24/7 on-call support.
