Provides advanced administrative support to the Investments department, including developing PowerPoint presentations, coordinating agendas and meeting materials, verifying international equity manager fees, arranging international travel and expense documentation, and assisting with proxy voting policy implementation and tracking.

The Chief Actuary leads actuarial operations and enterprise risk management for pension and healthcare plans. Responsibilities include overseeing annual actuarial valuation data, coordinating with consulting actuaries, presenting analyses to leadership and the retirement board, developing long-term funding strategies, and integrating actuarial, financial, investment, operational, and strategic risks into the enterprise risk framework.

Manage EAFE Quantitative and Emerging Markets portfolios, conduct portfolio analysis, and lead a team of quantitative analysts to achieve investment objectives.

Lead STRS Ohio’s third-party risk management program by developing policies and procedures, managing vendor due diligence and questionnaires, reviewing contracts, facilitating risk assessments, and monitoring regulatory, cybersecurity, AI, supply-chain, geopolitical, sanctions, and operational-resilience risks. The role coordinates with vendors, internal stakeholders, sourcing, vendor management, and legal/compliance teams to strengthen oversight and reduce technology and business risk.

Maintain availability, performance, and integrity of databases and OS platforms. Install, upgrade, patch, backup/recover, tune, monitor, and automate database tasks. Provide 24/7 on-call support. (AI specialist role adds leveraging AI tools, building/deploying Copilot Studio agents, and prompt engineering.)
