Hands-on Mechanical Engineering intern to design, build, and test robot subsystems. Responsibilities include CAD in NX, mechanism design and analysis, prototype manufacturing, fixture fabrication, test plan creation, troubleshooting, and documentation to support fabrication and assembly over a 3-month Fall internship.

Lead end-to-end mechanical design, analysis, testing, and field deployment of a rugged, high-payload construction robot. Size structures and hydraulic components using hand calculations and FEA, produce GD&T manufacturing drawings, partner with vendors, and develop/execute hardware test plans to validate designs and support pilot deployments.

Design and scale the autonomy stack for heavy-construction robots by integrating perception, planning, and control. Build simulation environments, improve perception pipelines and sensor calibration, enable learned-model deployment, develop data collection and validation workflows, diagnose real-world failures, and deploy robust manipulation systems for field use.

Support board bring-up, debugging, and validation for V1 electrical systems. Perform lab debugging with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, execute board- and system-level test plans, characterize power electronics, assist with schematic capture and layout review, troubleshoot integrations with mechanical and firmware teams, and document test results and design iterations.
