Teams at State Bar of Texas

Represents the Commission for Lawyer Discipline and State Bar of Texas in attorney disciplinary proceedings and civil litigation. Conducts pre-litigation investigations, presents complaints to grievance panels, provides ethical guidance, and manages litigation caseloads and deadlines. Requires Texas bar licensure in good standing, knowledge of Texas legal and disciplinary rules, strong legal research and writing skills, and effective communication. Travel is minimal.

Assists the Executive Director with legal research, policy development, legislation, rules, programs, and initiatives improving access to justice for low-income Texans. Conducts research on self-represented litigation, case law, and legal barriers; drafts memoranda, agreements, reports, publications, and grant applications; supports stakeholder meetings and partnerships; and advises on updating legal forms and policies. Requires collaboration with legal, government, nonprofit, and community organizations.

Provides litigation support for attorneys and investigators handling attorney disciplinary cases. Responsibilities include preparing pleadings and discovery, conducting legal research, gathering records, coordinating with courts and witnesses, supporting hearings and trials, maintaining case files and docket systems, responding to inquiries, and monitoring compliance with disciplinary judgments. Requires paralegal certification or three years of civil litigation experience, strong legal writing and communication skills, civil procedure knowledge, and proficiency with office and case-management technologies.
