Designs and develops mechanical subsystems for rugged, high-volume sensor products from concept through production. Responsibilities include PCB and electrical packaging, enclosures, sealing, connectors, thermal interfaces, prototyping, tolerance analysis, environmental testing, manufacturing design, and thermal and structural simulation. The engineer collaborates with electrical, manufacturing, supply chain, and test teams to deliver validated products for harsh outdoor environments.

Supports commercial and business operations across pricing, proposals, customer business cases, market analysis, forecasting, CRM hygiene, budgeting, reporting, vendor coordination, and process improvement. Builds repeatable templates, systems, documentation, and decision frameworks while partnering with sales, finance, product, engineering, and leadership. Owns the wireless software stack for a distributed mesh sensor network, including radio configuration, telemetry, diagnostics, chipset integration, fleet tooling, RF simulation, and field deployment support. The role requires debugging across radio, driver, kernel, embedded, and application layers while collaborating with RF, hardware, embedded, and backend teams to improve wireless performance, video quality, and reliability.

Productionize detection, tracking, and vision-language models across edge devices and cloud infrastructure. Build evaluation systems, data feedback loops, deployment pipelines, and production metrics; optimize inference cost and performance; run staged rollouts and experiments; and ship customer-facing features connecting inference services, APIs, and product behavior.

Own end-to-end antenna development for wireless sensors, access points, and mothernodes, including architecture, electromagnetic simulation, prototyping, integration, chamber measurement, certification support, production deployment, and field-performance correlation. Design across sub-GHz mesh, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, CBRS, command-and-control, and GNSS systems. Design low-latency PostgreSQL schemas, implement real-time updates, secure auth/role-based access, and deploy containerized apps. Collaborate across edge-cloud systems and own end-to-end features from schema to front-end polish.

Full-cycle enterprise salesperson responsible for outbound pipeline generation, technical demos, pilot scoping, and closing deployments of Specter’s hardware+software video sensor systems. Engage executive and technical stakeholders, run pilot-to-scale conversions, maintain CRM and forecasts, provide product feedback, and travel regularly to customer sites.

Own reliability for a live fleet of Linux-based edge sensors and cloud infrastructure. Triage and recover field hardware, perform SSH-based diagnostics, build fleet management and OTA systems, implement observability and alerting, automate operational tasks, develop runbooks, and participate in on-call rotations to prevent and resolve incidents.

Design and build automated test fixtures and software (Python, Rust/C) for qualification and production. Drive design-for-testability, perform cross-domain debugging (mechanical, electrical, software), run reliability/qualification rigs, and own failure analysis and production testing to ensure units meet specs.

Design and optimize end-to-end wireless systems for long-range and multi-radio deployments. Build models, simulations, and automated planning tools; collaborate with RF, firmware, and software teams; lead field validation, interoperability testing, and deployment tuning for large-scale sensor networks.

Own end-to-end data labeling pipelines and vendor relationships, build annotation tooling and dataset browsers, define labeling taxonomies and QC standards, partner with researchers to design data collection strategies, monitor dataset metrics, integrate new data sources, and close the loop from labeled data to model improvement.

Own the reliability, scalability, and operational health of an AWS and Kubernetes-based platform supporting connected sensors. Responsibilities include production troubleshooting, incident leadership, infrastructure management with Terraform, automation, CI/CD improvements, observability, service-level objectives, runbooks, and post-incident reviews. The role partners with application, AI, embedded systems, and fleet teams and participates in on-call support.

Lead and run engineering-facing operations: manage hardware test sites, internal deployments, field sustainment, IT and lab infrastructure, inventory/asset tracking, test operations, vendor coordination, and translate field findings into prioritized feedback for engineering and product.

Embed with customers to discover high-value use cases, lead post-sales discovery, coordinate sales/deployment/engineering to deliver solutions, and drive expansion and renewal by co-developing generalizable product features. This is a field role requiring in-person engagement, technical fluency across platform/ML/firmware/hardware, and the ability to influence product direction without direct ownership.
