Leads daily nursing operations for inpatient behavioral health units, supervising RNs, LVNs, charge nurses, and behavioral health technicians. Ensures safe, trauma-informed care; regulatory compliance with DNV, CMS, and Texas requirements; staffing adequacy; quality improvement; patient safety; crisis management; staff development; and effective coordination with interdisciplinary teams. Oversees audits, competencies, performance management, incident investigations, and budget and productivity support.

Provides psychological assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and individual, group, and family therapy for children and adolescents in a residential behavioral health program. Responsibilities include crisis intervention, behavioral stabilization, interdisciplinary collaboration, clinical documentation, family engagement, and program development. Requires a California psychology license, doctoral degree, BLS certification, and specialized behavioral health training.

Provides direct behavioral health nursing care, including medication administration, vital-sign monitoring, focused assessments, patient education, daily-living assistance, documentation, treatment-plan support, and group or recreational activities. Maintains a safe therapeutic environment and collaborates with psychiatrists, nurses, and other healthcare staff.

Directs utilization review operations for a psychiatric hospital, overseeing admissions, continued-stay and discharge reviews, payer authorizations, denial appeals, regulatory compliance, and utilization metrics. Collaborates with psychiatrists, nursing, and social services to support medical necessity, patient progression, and efficient discharge planning. Requires Texas RN licensure or qualifying behavioral health license, psychiatric clinical experience, utilization review or managed care experience, and proficiency with InterQual, MCG, and EMR systems.

Coordinates IRF-PAI data collection, documentation, scoring, coding, audits, CMS compliance, and timely submissions for acute inpatient rehabilitation. Educates clinical staff, supports accurate tier-code capture and reimbursement, resolves scoring issues, monitors quality metrics, schedules patient assessments, reports performance to leadership, and collaborates with HIM coding staff to identify applicable codes.
