Optimise continuous manufacturing, material blends, and production processes for sustainable plastic-free materials. The role involves designing experiments, resolving quality failures, reducing waste and costs, scaling new materials and processes, and collaborating with materials, engineering, operations, and manufacturing partners. Candidates will work hands-on with material blends, machine setups, process parameters, and material characterisation in Shellworks’ London R&D and manufacturing environment.

Productionise sustainable packaging products for mass manufacturing through product testing, scale validation, process improvement, documentation, change control, and quality measures. Coordinate new product development across injection moulding, blow moulding, extrusion, and compounding projects. Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, suppliers, customers, sales, and manufacturing partners to meet cost, quality, and timeline expectations while scaling products from prototype to high-volume production.

Own the full sales cycle for bespoke technical projects, from prospecting and qualification through proposals, negotiation, and close. Develop pricing, timelines, and technical specifications with engineering, manufacturing, and design teams. Build relationships with technical buyers and senior decision-makers, manage post-sale accounts, and identify upsell opportunities. Provide market and competitive insights to support product development and go-to-market strategy while coordinating complex cross-functional projects.

Lead technical execution of multiple physical product development projects, from customer specifications through manufacturing scale-up and first-order delivery. Develop concepts, create and test prototypes, apply design-for-manufacturing principles, coordinate with manufacturing and operations, improve NPD processes and tracking tools, and champion high-quality industrial design for sustainable plastic-free products.

Drive new products and operational initiatives from concept to market, including direct-to-consumer launches in multiple geographies. Own execution, build operational capabilities, analyze expenditures, identify improvement opportunities, and balance commercial, financial, and engineering considerations while scaling sustainable products.
