Build storage APIs and abstractions, solve distributed consistency and scaling challenges, plan migrations, optimize performance and cost, and collaborate with platform and product engineering teams. Develop primarily in Rust and Python, create advanced reliability tests, maintain observability and availability SLOs, respond to incidents, document technical decisions, and participate in on-call rotation.

Design, operate, and improve distributed storage systems supporting Sentry’s products. Build APIs and abstractions for reliable data access, solve consistency and scalability challenges, plan migrations, optimize performance and costs, and collaborate with infrastructure and product teams. Write primarily Rust and Python, develop chaos-testing scenarios, maintain SLOs and monitoring, support incident response, and participate in on-call rotation.

Design, build, and operate a scalable streaming platform supporting high-throughput, low-latency data processing. Develop Kafka infrastructure, stream-processing systems, automation, control-plane capabilities, developer APIs, observability, monitoring, and failover mechanisms. Partner with product engineers to improve ingestion reliability, stability, performance, and developer experience in distributed cloud environments.

Design, build, and operate Sentry’s streaming platform, including Kafka infrastructure, streaming runtimes, developer APIs, and control-plane automation. Develop resilient, high-throughput real-time processing systems with strong correctness guarantees. Improve scalability, observability, monitoring, failover, and operational efficiency while partnering with product engineers to support reliable ingestion pipelines.

Build and maintain developer infrastructure, including local and cloud development environments, CI/CD pipelines, service and library workflows, publishing tools, deployment systems, metrics, and flaky-test detection. Partner with engineering teams to prioritize improvements, drive adoption, and measure outcomes. The role requires ownership of technical projects from design through rollout and operation, with a focus on reliability, performance, cost, and maintainability.

Leads cross-team AI platform programs across AI/ML, engineering, product, design, and data ingestion. Coordinates roadmaps, dependencies, risks, ownership, release readiness, staged rollouts, and change communication. Builds lightweight processes that improve delivery across Engineering, Product, Design, Documentation, and Support. Requires technical judgment, architectural understanding, strong communication, and experience managing complex programs from definition through launch.

Own Sentry’s AI-assisted development strategy and build agent tooling for reliable code contributions. Responsibilities include exposing internal systems through APIs, creating agent context and execution environments, implementing permissions, checkpoints, retries, logging, evaluations, and feedback loops, and automating dependency upgrades, bug fixes, maintenance, issue triage, and CI/CD workflows. The role requires cross-team technical leadership, hands-on engineering, and measurement of developer productivity improvements.

Lead and grow Sentry’s design engineering team responsible for the Scraps design system. Own the strategic roadmap, maintain UI quality, align Figma designs with production code, build React components and AI-enabled frontend infrastructure, and drive adoption through documentation, lint rules, and contribution workflows. Manage hiring, leveling, coaching, and collaboration across designers and engineers while remaining hands-on with component APIs, tokens, variables, and design system implementation.

Provide advanced technical support to enterprise developers by debugging complex distributed systems, tracing SDK and instrumentation issues, and advising on observability architecture. Build autonomous support workflows using Sentry APIs, MCP, knowledge engineering, and LLM orchestration. Analyze support data to prioritize product improvements, develop agent tooling, and establish effective human-in-the-loop escalation paths.

Leads and develops an engineering team responsible for Sentry’s Events Analytics Platform. Sets technical and strategic direction, drives distributed data platform architecture, scales analytical querying and storage, ensures reliability, supports AI workloads, and partners cross-functionally. The role includes mentoring, performance management, incident leadership, postmortems, and fostering operational excellence and an inclusive team culture.

Leads Infrastructure Engineering, overseeing internal control platforms, configuration management, traffic routing, automation, reliability, and technical direction. Manages and develops engineers, owns platform roadmaps, and partners with Production Engineering, SRE, Developer Infrastructure, and product teams. The Senior iOS SDK Engineer will develop and enhance the iOS SDK, focusing on architecture, performance monitoring, and Apple technologies, while contributing to open-source projects.

Design, build, and operate high-scale issue detection systems processing billions of events daily. Develop real-time pipelines, monitoring, analysis, grouping, search, and data migration capabilities. Own projects end to end, make technical product decisions, improve reliability and performance, instrument systems, collaborate with Product and Design, and mentor engineers while delivering a high-quality developer experience.

Own end-to-end development of Sentry’s telemetry experience across backend APIs, workflows, and frontend interfaces. Build with Python, Django, PostgreSQL, React, and TypeScript; collaborate with SDK, ingest, product, and design teams; drive projects from problem definition through launch and measurement; and improve developer-facing observability workflows.

Lead Sentry’s Growth engineering team, define and execute its roadmap, and improve the self-serve customer funnel across signup, onboarding, activation, trials, upgrades, pricing, and billing. Partner with Product, Data, Design, BizOps, and GTM teams to build experimentation foundations, run disciplined tests, analyze metrics, and balance conversion with retention and customer value. Mentor engineers and contribute substantively to architecture and technical decisions.

Design, develop, and ship production software for Sentry’s SDK, Product, or Ingest teams. Engineers own projects end to end, work on systems processing millions of events, collaborate with engineering teams, and receive mentorship and feedback. They work on systems used by millions of developers, receive mentorship and feedback, collaborate with engineering teams, and present their work at the end of the internship. The 12+ week hybrid internship requires relocation to Vienna, Austria.
