Design, implement, and optimise secure, scalable, resilient Azure infrastructure supporting Scottish Water’s cloud-first transformation. Responsibilities include building landing zones, configuring networking and security, applying the Azure Well-Architected Framework, developing infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines, and driving platform reliability, performance, and cost improvements. The role collaborates with architects and product teams, supports cloud strategy, and mentors colleagues by sharing Azure best practices.

Support Project Compass and the ICC transformation by analysing operational and asset performance data, producing management information and Power BI reports, leading continuous improvement projects, and communicating insights to stakeholders to drive data-driven decisions and process optimisation.

Lead the technical direction and standards for Azure data engineering. Design and assure scalable, secure pipelines and lakehouse architectures, review production changes in Azure DevOps, conduct proof-of-concept development, and research new platform capabilities. Collaborate with data scientists, architects, developers, platform teams, support teams, and external partners to ensure reliable, governed data solutions and smooth transition into support. The role provides hands-on technical leadership without direct line management.

Lead Scottish Water’s enterprise operational excellence and performance management system. Establish Lean-based management standards, visual management, standard work, and structured problem-solving practices. Lead Operational Excellence specialists, coach senior leaders, build organisation-wide improvement capability, and influence stakeholders across operational and corporate functions. Develop standards for continuous improvement, project management, and agile delivery while partnering with Finance to deliver measurable efficiency, benefits realisation, and sustainable operational and financial performance.

Own and coordinate high-voltage maintenance programs across the network, including planned, reactive, essential, and statutory work. Liaise with contractors, stakeholders, procurement, and standards teams; diagnose issues; manage follow-on activities; maintain records; and conduct safety and quality audits. Support capital investment, process improvement, technical reporting, compliance, and reliability of HV substations while applying safe isolation, permit-to-work, and Electricity at Work procedures.

Monitor, analyse and report on business performance and KPIs. Develop Power BI dashboards, management information, data models and reporting solutions; investigate root causes of performance issues; ensure data quality; recommend improvements; and support governance and performance reviews. Collaborate with stakeholders to automate and streamline reporting and translate complex data into actionable insights.

Manage billing validation and payment processes for energy invoices, oversee external consultant contract, analyse large datasets to identify trends and optimise tariffs and capacity, resolve billing queries with suppliers, produce clear reports for stakeholders, and ensure timely, accurate payments and continuous improvement.
