The Senior Editor develops, edits, and produces reports, articles, newsletters, op-eds, executive communications, and other storytelling content focused on energy and climate. The role translates complex research into accessible narratives, shapes editorial and content strategies, advises leaders and subject matter experts, uses audience insights and performance data, ensures digital and SEO standards, collaborates cross-functionally, and mentors colleagues. The position is remote within the continental United States with occasional travel.

Supports European industrial cluster and trade corridor initiatives that accelerate heavy-industry decarbonization. Responsibilities include market, techno-economic, and policy analysis; developing strategies, reports, and recommendations; engaging governments, industry, financiers, and civil society; facilitating workshops; managing project workplans; supporting grant proposals; and representing RMI at policy forums. The role focuses on industrial transition, clean fuels, hydrogen, ammonia, industrial infrastructure, and European climate, energy, trade, and industrial policy.

Leads research, quantitative modeling, stakeholder engagement, project management, and thought leadership focused on building energy efficiency, electrification, demand flexibility, and decarbonization. Develops actionable recommendations, policy briefs, reports, presentations, and external communications; manages workstreams, contributors, budgets, timelines, and partnerships; and supports strategy, business development, and market transformation across California and the Northeastern U.S.

Own and architect the global Total Rewards function, including compensation strategy, salary structures, pay equity, benchmarking, benefits design, leave-of-absence policies, and people analytics. Partner with People Operations, Finance, Talent, and senior leaders to deliver insights, workforce planning support, compliant programs, and compensation recommendations. Lead through influence and oversee strategy while execution is supported by specialists.

Leads RMI’s cross-program strategy, market development, and consulting engagements focused on data centers and their impacts on energy systems. Develops thought leadership, client offerings, partnerships, and go-to-market strategies; structures complex advisory projects; leads multidisciplinary teams; manages scope, budgets, quality, and executive relationships; and integrates expertise across power, buildings, finance, policy, infrastructure, and sustainability programs.

Provide in-house legal support across RMI programs: draft, review, and negotiate contracts; advise on nonprofit governance, IP, data privacy, lobbying, antitrust, and compliance; develop policies and templates; manage subawards and outside counsel; work with finance on compliance; mitigate legal risk and support transactional matters.
