Teams at Rigaku

Designs and integrates mechanical systems and subassemblies for x-ray analytical instruments. Responsibilities include conceptual and detailed product design, stress and fatigue analysis, precision alignment, tolerance budgeting, CAD modeling, system integration, fixture development, manufacturing support, and collaboration with R&D, operations, and sales. The role also provides engineering support for new products, customer proposals, cost/performance optimization, and production improvements.

Supports Rigaku semiconductor metrology customers through advanced X-ray imaging tool deployments, applications development, recipe optimization, troubleshooting, data analysis, training, and technical demonstrations. Collaborates with service, sales, marketing, and product development teams to improve hardware and software, define new applications, and support semiconductor advanced packaging inspections. Requires strong X-ray physics and semiconductor manufacturing expertise, programming or scripting skills, and up to 20% domestic and international travel.

Develops precision optical components and X-ray optics using CNC and manual grinding and polishing processes. Sets up fixturing, alignment, tooling, offsets, and CNC programs; performs optical metrology with interferometers, profilometers, and microscopes; interprets specifications and inspection results; conducts equipment verification, maintenance, troubleshooting, and process improvements. Requires strong precision manufacturing fundamentals, GD&T knowledge, CAD/CAM capability, and willingness to learn optics-specific measurement requirements.
