The Assistant Communications Coordinator will lead programme branding, visibility, content development, storytelling, digital communications, and media relations. They will document youth and community impact, produce multimedia content, manage communication assets and social media, support media engagement, and share programme learning. The role collaborates with programme, MEL, field, and youth-led organisation teams while ensuring donor branding, safeguarding, inclusion, and ethical storytelling standards. Regular domestic and international travel is required.

Supports financial management and logistics for donor-funded youth employment programmes in Uganda. Responsibilities include processing payments and advances, monitoring budgets, preparing financial reports, maintaining records, supporting audits and reconciliations, coordinating procurement and travel logistics, managing assets and inventory, ensuring donor and organisational compliance, and advising programme teams and partners on financial and operational procedures.

Supports HR operations across recruitment, onboarding, employee lifecycle management, performance reviews, staff development, compliance, employee relations, and policy administration. Maintains HR records, supports labour-law and donor compliance, manages documentation and exits, and promotes organisational culture, safeguarding, ethical conduct, and conflict resolution. The role collaborates with managers across programmes and requires regular international and domestic travel.

Supports delivery of Schools Triathlon fundraising events, coordinating school assemblies, participant communications, registrations, fundraising data, donations, merchandise, suppliers, and event logistics. Maintains accurate records in Eventrac, Salesforce, Excel, and JustGiving; tracks fundraising progress and provides administrative support. Leads event social media, KPI reporting, and PR coordination. Requires regular travel to schools and UK meetings, plus occasional evening and weekend work. A full driving licence and vehicle are essential.

Leads financial and administrative management for donor-funded programmes, including budgeting, forecasting, expenditure control, reporting, compliance, audits, procurement, logistics, risk management, and internal controls. Supervises Project Finance and Logistics Officers, supports consortium partners and programme teams, and provides financial analysis for planning and resource allocation. The role also strengthens operational systems and ensures adherence to organisational, donor, statutory, and safeguarding requirements.

Supports gender equality, diversity, inclusion, and safeguarding across youth employment programs and partner organizations. Responsibilities include safeguarding risk assessments, case management support, referrals, compliance monitoring, policy review, partner capacity assessments, sensitization training, reporting, and learning. The role promotes safe, ethical, accessible programming for marginalized young people and requires regular domestic and international travel.

Provide safeguarding and trauma-informed mental health support for youth and survivor delegates participating in the EVAC Global Ministerial Conference and Youth & Survivor Summit. Responsibilities include risk assessments, consent procedures, safeguarding training, delegation preparation, onsite wellbeing support, incident escalation, debriefing, and post-event follow-up. The consultant will lead the safeguarding and mental health support team, advise on ethical storytelling and digital risks, and coordinate with Restless Development and event partners.
