Build and evolve Restate’s durable execution runtime, focusing on distributed systems, state management, storage, messaging, concurrency, fault tolerance, performance, and reliability. Design, test, operate, and improve production-scale backend infrastructure; diagnose complex systems issues; develop integrations and tooling; collaborate with production users; and contribute to architecture, observability, documentation, and engineering practices.

Own the Restate UI end to end, from interaction and visual design through production front-end code. Build fast, data-intensive developer interfaces for execution timelines, retries, queues, state, failures, filtering, search, charts, and live updates. Create scalable design systems, handle complex interface states, maintain performance, and communicate technical concepts visually. The role requires strong React and TypeScript skills, design sensibility, information design expertise, accessibility awareness, and comfort working autonomously with engineers and founders.

Own Restate’s frontend product experience, building fast, accessible, secure interfaces for monitoring durable workflows and distributed systems. Develop data-intensive timelines, charts, filtering, search, live updates, client state, and shared components. Collaborate directly with design, engineering, and founders from concept through production. Improve performance, usability, testing, information design, and safe handling of untrusted content while contributing to API and backend discussions when needed.

Design Restate’s core developer-facing UI and visual language for explaining durable execution. Responsibilities include information design for timelines, retries, queues, failures, scalable design systems, technical storytelling, motion design, architecture visuals, brand and campaign assets, and close collaboration with engineers and the founding team. The role requires autonomy, strong product and visual design judgment, technical curiosity, clear writing, and the ability to make complex infrastructure understandable.

Own product marketing for a technical AI-infrastructure startup: positioning, messaging, launches, packaging, customer stories, competitive differentiation, sales enablement, and market feedback to shape product roadmap and adoption among AI-native teams and enterprises.

Lead PoV/PoC enablement through production readiness and deployment for Restate. Work hands-on with customers and OSS evaluators to build integrations, reference implementations, and operational patterns (Kubernetes, cloud, observability). Drive rollout planning, participate in escalation/on-call rotations, and produce tutorials, demos, and enablement assets while feeding product friction back to engineering.

Lead developer relations to grow awareness, drive editorial content and launches, and support community across Slack, Discord, and GitHub. Partner with founders and engineers to produce docs, tutorials, talks, and educational materials. Surface community feedback into product and run events, conferences, and public moments to increase adoption of Restate's durable runtime.
