Summer internship at Te Pūtea Matua, New Zealand’s central bank. Interns will complete a meaningful individual project and gain exposure to central-bank operations across Money, Financial Stability, Enterprise Services, and Operations while networking with professionals. Applicants should be studying economics, commerce, finance, law, mathematics, data analytics, or a related field; entering their final undergraduate year or pursuing postgraduate study; and available full-time in Wellington from mid-November to mid-February.

Lead workspace and facilities management across Wellington and Auckland sites: partner with business units, oversee building inspections, coordinate maintenance and improvement projects, manage service contracts and procurement, provide property and H&S advice, track activities to completion, support budget planning and workplace strategy.

Lead policy projects supporting New Zealand’s money and payments system, including payments modernisation, cash access, and the future of money. Provide high-quality economic, financial, and regulatory analysis; advise stakeholders across government and industry; manage complex projects; and coach or lead individuals and teams. The role requires strong strategic judgement, communication, collaboration, and understanding of New Zealand economic issues and legislative processes.
